Talk Dirty to Me

My hopes of thinking that spanking had gone mainstream have been dashed again.

Perhaps some of you have had the misfortune of hearing on the radio a song called "Talk Dirty to Me" by Jason Derulo.  If you haven't, you may view the video below for you personal enlightenment.

Important:  If you haven't heard the song, listen to it before reading the rest of this post--you only have to listen to the first 45 secs (actually from :30 to :45), and try to decipher what the lyrics are!

So, in the chorus of the song, it sounds like he sings:

Been around the world, don't speak the language,
but your booty gon' need a spankin.'

Now this is definitely not the first time a hip-hop artist has referenced doing something to a "booty," but for the past month, I was under the impression that this song blatantly referenced spanking multiple times (after all, the chorus repeats three times).

Much to my dismay, I discovered the other day that my perverted spanko mind has been mishearing the lyrics this whole time, because it turns out they are, in fact:

Been around the world, don't speak the language,
but your booty don't need explainin.'

What?!

That's stupid--my version is way better.

What did YOU ALL hear when you listened to it?  I suspect I'm not alone in this.

  1. Lol, I like your version of the lyrics way better too. Sounds far more interesting than explainin'. I had to listen to the song at amazon, because youtube wouldn't play that song for me, and in this version he was more or less understandable. Too bad, I would have loved to hear the youtube version, it must be the better one. And the spanking line is the nicer one, that's for sure :)

  2. Autumn, this is so funny because the first time I heard this song I did a double take and had to listen carefully. My 13 year old daughter was in the car with me at the time and I turned off the radio, as a song entitled "talk dirty to me" is just not what I think she should listen to. But later I listened to it again and was disappointed that it did not, in fact, reference spanking. There's another song I like called daddy's home by Usher. It doesn't specifically reference spanking, but my mind sure had no trouble making the leap!

    1. Yeah, this song is pretty exploitative of women in general, but that seems to be the norm in hip hop culture these days.

  3. I heard the same thing you did. Great perverted minds think alike ;)

But honestly do you really want spanking to go mainstream? I have often thought about it and the long and short of it is "no".

    1. No. BDSM went mainstream and look how it was portrayed in 50 Shades of Grey. (Beware, only psychopaths who were abused as children turn to the likes of BSDM!!)

  4. I haven't listened to the song yet (catching up on blogs waiting for a Dr's apt). However, there is a song by Justin Moore (country) called 'Hank It' with a line "if you wanna keep your woman gotta spank it"
After hearing that one, I listened to a few other songs he has with my 'Spanko ears' on. I really think he is a dominant HoH that just might like to spank! ;)

    1. That's awesome! It's all about subtlety so that the vanilla people don't run away screaming from his music!
