A Dream

I started to make dinner, and, upon going to the fridge to get the chicken out, discovered that I had left both bags out on the counter all night and day.  I was so frustrated, I stuffed the bags of chicken violently into the trash can.

I decided to make pizza instead. But as I was rolling out the dough and ladling on the sauce, my husband came into the kitchen and said,

"I was going to make pizza tonight."

He then pushed me aside and took over my pizza-making! I was so angry that he thought he could walk in and take over, that I threw the whole pizza onto the floor--sauce down.

Next thing I knew, I was going over my husband's lap for a bare bottom punishment spanking that I did not think I deserved...

Boy, my dreams are getting realistic. Although, in real life, I could never throw a whole pizza on the floor--I couldn't waste good pizza like that!

I told my husband about the dream this morning, and he asked if I was worried or concerned that he was taking over things in my life. After all, dreams often reveal our real subconscious feelings. I couldn't think of anything, though. He has taken over some aspects--like holding me accountable--but I am truly grateful for that, not upset :)

In other news, I'm leaving for vacation in two days!!!  Well...it's technically not vacation, since I am visiting my parents. However, my parents live in a gorgeous log cabin on a wildlife-filled pond in the middle of the woods. They are also 15 minutes from the beach. It is the most calming, relaxing, therapeutic place I know, and anyone who visits feels the stress melt away...

Below are some actual photos of where I'm going:

    1. I am SOOO fortunate to have grown up there. The only problem is, I don't live there anymore, and I yearn for it constantly. My husband gets so sick of hearing me talk about how much I miss Michigan and how I want to move back there :)

  3. Have a great time, looks so peaceful ...how are the mosquitoes though?! Your dream was pretty funny, I would never waste a good pizza either, but I'm the queen at taking food from the freezer and forgetting about it. I hate to think all all the $$ I've wasted that way.

    1. The mosquitoes can get pretty bad, but we have tiki torches that burn nearby to keep them away.

If you're the queen of taking food out of the freezer and leaving it, then I am the queen of putting stuff in the freezer and forgetting about it...until a year later when it's so freezer burnt and ice caked it's unrecognizable, hahaha.

  4. I have to agree, that place looks fantastic!
I have never been one for throwing things in anger, I always think about the mess it will make or who bought it for me or how much it cost. Sometimes my practical brain annoys me!

    1. The only time I threw something across the kitchen was when a plastic piece snapped on our food processor cup, rendering it unusable. It was already broken so I threw it across the kitchen in anger. Then I called Kitchen Aid and they replaced the whole thing!

  6. Autumn, I hope you have the best holidays ever, and throwing down pizza is absolutely prohibited. It's far too yummy for that. Dreams can be so strange, but you are right, they can also reveal a lot about our deeper emotional states or what we ponder on a deeper level. LoL, I wonder what pizza could be a symbol for. Enjoy your holidays!

    hugs

    1. Thanks, Nina! I've been curious about what you've been up to the past few weeks. Hopefully you've had some time for rest and relaxation as well.

Mmmm..re-reading this is making me crave pizza (and I'm not the pregnant one, haha).
