New Business

I promise I haven't left Blog Land! I've decided to start a new business for the holidays, and it's taking up a whole lot of time for not a lot of profit (as new businesses are wont to do). .

It's a little stressful and discouraging. My husband has given me pep talks and "encouragement" over his lap, and there have been tears already. I may not make any money this year, but I'm not going to to give up :)

Loveliest of holidays to you all--hopefully I will get the chance to post some tidbits. I will be reading blogs when I can, but probably not posting much till after Christmas. For now, I will post a picture of our Christmas tree. We went with white lights this year, and I am just filled with warmth and happiness every time it comes on at night.

    1. You definitely do! I literally stood out by the road and held a sign today, haha. I figured if I'm not getting any customers I will at least wave to people and make them feel guilty for not coming in.

  5. Autumn, glad to hear you haven't left blog land; I was beginning to worry you had!

All the best of luck to you with your new business; running your own business is a challenge indeed. (If you ever need help or have questions; let me know as small business assistance is my specialty). In the meanwhile, keep bending over your husband's lap for those "encouragement sessions".

    1. Thanks, Jan. We usually have colored lights, so I thought I would miss them. So far, though, I'm really liking the white lights. Especially when I pull in the driveway at night and the whole window is sparkling.

    1. Thanks Jennelle. It is a lot of work, but it's only a holiday business, so it will end after Christmas. But next year, I'll be starting it up in the fall and going through Christmas, so we'll see how it goes...

  10. Hi there Autumn! :) I found you! I love your tree! We also use white lights and they add such warmth to the room, making it feel so much more cozy I think! Enjoy! Rob and I don't have one yet. I like to keep it up until New Years Day so tend to get it mid month. :)

I hope that you are doing well with your business! Sounds like you have learned some stuff for the next time. It can't be easy, but good for you for going forward with it all! Enjoy the holidays! Many hugs,

    <3 Katie

    1. Hi Katie! We leave our tree up until after New Years, at least. Christmas is, after all, 12 days ;)

We always cut our own and then stick it in a bucket of water so it will last as long as possible, but we definitely stretch the life of a pine tree to its limit.

      Thanks!
